The Capsule Dining Table explores the tension between softness and weight, precision and irregularity. A hand-cast walnut terrazzo top rests on a sculptural solid walnut base, combining expressive material surfaces with restrained geometry. The result feels architectural without becoming rigid — grounded, warm, and quietly monumental.

The terrazzo surface is composed of irregular walnut aggregate suspended within a deep charcoal matrix, creating subtle variation across the table. No two surfaces resolve exactly the same way. Under changing light, the top shifts between matte depth and reflective movement, revealing the texture and grain of the embedded wood pieces. Inset walnut discs punctuate the surface, echoing the cylindrical supports below and reinforcing the table’s rhythmic proportions.

Beneath, the solid walnut base is softened through rounded edges and a continuous capsule-shaped plinth that allows the piece to feel substantial without appearing heavy. The proportions are intentionally restrained, with the broad top hovering slightly beyond the structure below to create a sense of balance and tension.

Rather than functioning purely as a dining surface, the piece is intended to read as a singular sculptural object within a room — something between furniture and architectural element. Every radius, transition, and material junction is designed to feel calm, deliberate, and tactile.
